Co-managed IT support, or hybrid IT managed services, is a set-up where an external service provider augments the existing internal staff by providing additional IT resources and skills. Under this model, companies maintain control and direct involvement in their IT operations through their internal staff, while benefiting from the expertise, infrastructure, and resources brought by the managed service provider.
This form of IT support is an excellent option for companies with an existing IT department but need supplementary expertise or additional support to cover routine tasks or special projects. It allows the in-house IT team to focus more on strategic initiatives and less on mundane tasks and operational issues that could readily be outsourced.
